Ik zie mijn land
Met aandacht voor de Filippijnen
Voor een land dat zo mooi is
Dat mijn hart kon roven
Ik mijn ziel aan verkocht
In kou was ik eens in mijn eigen land
En in warmte werd ik ontvangen
Gewoon omdat ik voorbeeld vond
Mijn geest ontwaakt
Mijn liefde opnieuw geboren
En mijn kracht herboren
Oh Filipijnen ik houd van jou
Met schrik verkeerde ik in huiver
Wat had er kunnen gebeuren?
Kon ons huis met termieten
zo’n storm overleven?
Ik dank God dat Hij ons heeft gespaard
Maar zoveel doden
En zoveel zonder huis
En geen dak boven hun hoofd
Laat velen in ieder geval gered zijn
Door een heel zuivere geest
Met God vereerd
En ook al lijden ze nog meer
spiegel naar een evenbeeld zal nog dof zijn
Want wie kende werkelijk de grote rijkdom van Filippijnen?

Where I sold my soul
In cold I was once in my country
And I was received by so warm hearts
Just only because I found the right example
My mind awakens
My love was born again
And my strength rebirth

Dit om ons tot het meest krachtige uit te kunnen drukken. Goede voorbeelden zijn zonder meer van het allergrootste belang.
Een eigen wil laat ons kiezen keer op keer.
Totdat we vinden waar we om zochten en ermee een licht
